Drivers reported being held back for upto two miles

One lane has been closed and temporary traffic lights put in place along Queensferry Road, where repairs are taking place opposite South Learmonth Avenue.

The works are being carried out on behalf of ScottishPower, and are due for completion by Thursday night.

I went past these yesterday. Even in rush hour, 2 miles is hard to imagine.

I queued on the bus from Craigleith to the lights (just past Orchard Brae) for 30 minute this morning.

I guess if you measure all the standing traffic and add the whole distance up, it might work out to 2 miles? A bit like then cities bost of having hundreds of miles of cycle path, when really its just a bit of white paint which at most goes for 10 - 15 metres at a time before ending at a give way/dismount/lamp post/electric box/tree*.
