Hello folks, thought some of you could be interested in an upcoming campaigners' training day in Edinburgh on Sat 21 February via CTC.

It's for both new and experienced cycle campaigners and aims to give participants the tools to galvanise the Space for Cycling campaign. The national Space for Cycling campaign aims to create the conditions where anyone can cycle anywhere.

If of interest, you can book your free place :)

hmmm...It won't let you register unless you confirm that you're a member of CTC - is the day limited to members?

Oh, weird it shouldn't do that. Let me amend the settings! It's open to all.

Fabby - thanks guys. I would be there but I have a Belles ride planned for the same day. Might be able to shift the date, as I would like to come along!

I read this as a training day for "Space for Cycling Campaigners". Made me smile.

Lanes just for the campaigners who've earned them? Areas set aside in cafes?

Unfortunately I won't be able to make it along. In the end I decided that the Belles ride should be first priority as it was already booked in. I thought for a moment there was too much cycling going on in my diary, then re-evaluated that ridiculous thought. Enjoy the event guys and let me know how it goes.

RE space for cycle campaigners - if that was the case then it would be a genius way to get more folk campaigning ;) I know I'd be viciously flying the flag if I was guaranteed my own segregated space, haha!

If they do bring in 'space for cycling campaigners' then a POP t-shirt will be essential wear...

I've just cried off due to an all-night projectiling session by the future tandom stoker. Sad face.

If anyone takes notes and doesn't mind scanning and emailing then across afterwards, I'd be grateful!

I've been chatting to CTC folk in Fife. I wouldn't have minded coming, but for the fact I have a 9 week old, and giving up a full weekend day just now is not a possibility (I already feel really guilty about being away for POP).

If there was an online course, I would have dome that, and to that avail I've been helping them set up an online learning environment. This course may well end up online as a proof of concept....

If any other groups run structured cycling courses, and would fancy delivering them online too, and have some webspace but don't know how to transfer materials online. I can help with that free of charge, my only stipulation for helping would be that courses should be free to any one who wishes to access them.
