Just thought I would flag up the Get On Your Bike film season at Filmhouse, starting with "Bicycle" (plus Q&A, the same as the Cameo screening I'd assume) on Sunday: http://www.filmhousecinema.com/seasons/get-on-your-bike-jan15/

I may have a couple of vouchers for 50% off a ticket in the season going spare, which I will hopefully know one way or the other about that sometime tomorrow afternoon.

Yeah there's two things in that list I'd like to see and they're both on at times that clash with other things.

Just back from 'Bicycle' including Q&A with the director. I'm sure there was a reasonable turn-out of local cycling types but I don't know how many were CCEers. Certainly a fair amount of high-viz in evidence. I was the young chap wearing a blue jumper with the classic 3 flying ducks motif.

Film was quite pleasant in a humble celebratory way, though held back from being polemical. Chris Boardman was good: offered to throw away his Olympic gold in favour of 10-20% modal share.

Apparently it has been shown in its entirety at Westminster but with limited attendance, so an "edited highlights" has been created to provide the executive summary for those who need these kind of things summarised.

Oops, I forgot to get back to my own thread. I was there last night as well but I'm afraid that I didn't spot you dougal. I browsed the forum on my phone before the film started just in case anyone spotted, but no recognition. I enjoyed the film a lot, although I found the lack of footage of some events (due to cost, e.g. Boardman at the 1992 Olympics) a bit frustrating and the structure was a bit here and there, but I did find out a lot that I didn't know before and it left me feeling optimistic.

Looks like I'm going to have a spare ticket for Where the Trail Ends tomorrow night at 20:25 due to illness just in case anyone is interested? I got it half price for £4.50. I have also ended up with one spare 50% off voucher which can be used on this season of films plus select others...

Where the Trail Ends was spectacular and quite insane - essentially a feature length Danny MacAskill video using far-flung locations from around the world and punctuated by American riders saying how gnarly the conditions were after performing an unbelieveable descent/wiping out and somehow surviving relatively unscathed. It was perhaps a bit too much of essentially the same thing after 80mins, but it certainly made me want to go and do some mountain biking, albeit something extremely tame in comparison...

While I look after the kids, Mrs Paddy got tickets for the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour which is fantastic for anyone interested in the outdoors. Many cycling themed shorts, I'd expect similar to what jdanielp described...

My consolation prize is tickets to the Revolution Series at the Chris Hoy Velodrome the following weekend...
