Anyone know what they're up to in the Pencaitland Railway Walk?
2 big diggers on there this morning - looks like they may be working on the drainage at the Crossgatehall end.
    Badly needing done if so.

I'd planned to go up there today. Maybe try again tomorrow or Friday and have a look.

Went past again tonight. Seems like they're digging out the drainage channels that run parallel to the path.
Certainly plenty of ripe smelling sludge being shifted about.

I wouldn't recommend it, at least not on a bike with mudguards. The diggers have broken up the red blaes surface which happens most winters because of the frost. But it's the stinking mud over the top of that which is the problem. It glued the blaes to my tyres and they eventually jammed up. I've ridden that path when it's been flooded, flooded and frozen and buried under snow-drifts and that's the only time it's brought me to a stop.

Yeah just got back... it's awful.
Never seen mud like that - it made my bike randomly change gears for the next couple of miles.
