Melt of the Meeting Award: Cllr Whyte
Still laughing at this one.
(Sorry, my last attempt at this post may have broken the forum, possibly due to the ill advised inclusion of an emoji from @bakky's newsletter.)
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 17years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

@urchaidh, you got time to squander on laughter when you got a CBP t-shirt to deal with?
@urchaidh sometimes I'm just being glib, but that really did seem like the stupidest thing I'd heard for quite a while. And yes - no new-fangled emoji here!

Wow
That’s a (fabulous) piece of work
Palpable relief when I realised Phyllis had done so much narrative work breaking out the visitor levy outcomes and we could just link to it :)

Wow
How do you find the time??
Sneaking it in here and there; taking advantage of the outing/adventure and resting period cadence of life with smallish kids. I bump through it using the webcast chapter markers and speed controls (1.5x for most folk speaking) - having looked at the background of items the week before helps, as does having a bit of a ‘format’ already locked in. Probably four hours total or something like that all in.
Please keep it up…
Very enjoyable analysis of what is a rather technical bureaucracy.

3.1.2 To note that Jacobs undertook a study for the Council as part of the SfP Pedestrian Crossing Review which found that pedestrian waiting times at signalised crossings could be reduced substantially – and in some cases by as much as half – without adversely affecting traffic flow, and further note that the Jacobs report contained a number of worked examples where such pedestrian waiting times were successfully implemented.

The City of Edinburgh Council’s Transport and Environment Committee (or ‘TEC’) will meet this Thursday, 2nd April at 10am. As usual, we’ve scoured the agenda for cycling and road safety contents, and written up a summary of the agenda.Thursday looks to be like a key day for the future of the Greenbank to Meadows quiet route, with a Green group motion [PDF] ensuring the clock can’t simply run out on this vital safe walking, wheeling and cycling corridor in the south of Edinburgh. But there’s as yet no sign of how the Labour administration plan to take this matter in hand.

David Hunter of Living Streets Edinburgh started his deputation by quoting from the introduction to the Council’s Active Travel Plan. Strangely, he managed to miss out the word “cycling” entirely from the “walking, wheeling, cycling” part
…hmm…
It’s important to be consistent.
For what it’s worth that was by and large a decent deputation.
