Based on the comments that I've seen about this story on various non-cycling sites, many of which were along the lines of the title of this thread and/or karma related, it does seem that the general concept of a bicycle is at least given a higher opinion by most people than that of criminality. It is strange then how negative most people are on the same websites when cyclists come up in almost any other 'newsworthy' context... Perhaps we'd be looked on more favourably if there were more criminals at large?

Bicycles are okay. It's the riders (and the riding on the road) that is the crime against humanity.
PS. I'm a cyclist myself...
