Doored by another parent today getting out of the backdoor of a black double parked range rover. It's ok though she had a good reason. She didn't see me!! No damage fortunately although I may have scratched the Range Rover.

Ouch! Was that when I saw you @school?

Parents parking outside schools are possibly the worst/most selfish road users.

Every single newsletter I've got from my kids' school has had something about inconsiderate parking / driving...

'Ouch' seconded. Hope you are ok Recombodna.
Some new Range Rovers have reduced glass area on back door to improve efficiency or some other 'non fashionable' reason. So back window seems unusually high up now, Sure they have built in CCTV and proximity indicators though to compensate. Not an excuse, but wonder if this was a factor. That and double parking and being in a hurry.
Think Range Rovers are considered 'guilty' on the forum even when not 'dooring'? ;-)

Correct. Any car-like vehicle that is so big that you can't see round it or over it is by definition antisocial.

@ih I think that it's more a feature of who's driving rather than the vehicle itself. I can't see over our Citroen Berlingo, but I like to think that Mrs Greenroofer drives it with consideration for all road users, and it's not enormous or hugely heavy and it doesn't have a big engine: it's just quite tall*.
Some kinds of vehicle attract particular kinds of driver, and I think that's where the Range Rover gets its bad rep from.
*which means I can get my bike in the back without having to rotate the bars or take the wheel off. It also takes two kids' bikes and a folded Brompton without even putting the seats down. That's what comes of having a van with windows...

Recombodna, glad you're OK. Someone should have words with the parent about ensuring that the childlock is on. that way they couldn't get out the back without having a banksman on the outside.
Of course you can't expect expect the drivers of these things to actually consider what might make their children safer (legal parking, walking to school, etc).
