We had to get our rear wheel rebuilt, and opted for a disc brake.

But now the kickstand hits the brake or the spokes.

    advice?

(getting rid of kickstand would be a real pain).

Would something like the Hebie Double kickstand work for you?

that does look good. our current one is also a double, but both sides flick up onto the same side of the wheel (can't find a better way to describe).

wonder if that one would fit our smaller than normal frame? suggests it is for a 28inch wheel bike... whereas tandem is 20"

That Hebie seems to hang very low on the ground, it might bottom out on the Helios.

With a single-leg stand you can saw down the leg to fit, however aprpeciate you might want double leg for stability. I think the Velo Orange "Porteur" stand might be a bit more compact than that Hebie regards ground clearance.

It might not work for you, but there's single-leg stands that bolt around the rear triangle around the hub and point backwards, so don't foul the wheel. They're very sturdy as mounted by multiple bolts but might be tricky to get them down from the front seat of a tandem and too far for little legs to reach on the rear seat. The bike also sits over at an angle when they're down.

If standard Pletscher double kick stand for Helios it should work. One on my demo has disc brake and kick stand. The stand is well clear of disc and spokes.

Not sure why your Helios would have a problem unless kick stand type has been changed to another model. Possible it is too long. In that case I'll cut it down for you. Did Bicycle Works do this? This should work as what you have is a standard enough option.

Thanks Dave. Stand hasn't been cut down. Wheel was done by Cycle service.

I'll try to arrange a time when you can look at it and see what you think.

it was fine when they first did the wheel, then we took the snow tyres off and it all went a bit pear-shaped (hopefully not literally).
