    We have a very exciting opportunity for existing/prospective cycle ride leaders to gain experience in return for some fantastic benefits.
    Scotland's Big Nature Festival - Cycle Ride Leader
    Scotland's Big Nature Festival is now in its 4th year. We have moved to Levenhall Links in Musselburgh and supporting families to 'Get there greener'.

    We are looking for cycle ride leaders to guide groups to and from the Meadows in Edinburgh to Levenhall Links in Musselburgh (approx 8miles each way) on Saturday 23rd and/or Sunday 24th May.
    The role involves:
    - Cycle Ride Leader training 9am to 5 pm Saturday 16th May
    - First Aid training 9am to 5pm Sunday 17th May (if needed)
    - Pre-ride preparation including skills and maintenance
    - Briefing participants about the ride
    - Leading the ride at an appropriate pace
    - Highlighting the wildlife and points of interest along the route (info provided)
    - Supporting riders to make sure participants are enjoying the ride.

    Post-ride tasks include:
    - Feeding back to the Active Travel Officer about the ride
    - Completing any necessary paperwork

    - Cycle Ride Leader qualification

    The skills you need
    We are looking for people who:
    - Are over 18yrs *ESSENTIAL
    - Are confident cyclists
    - Have knowledge of basic bike maintenance
    - Are able to represent the RSPB in a professional manner
    - Are able to motivate individuals
    - Are well organised
    Your time
    Minimum commitment: Training day, ride planning and 2 hours Am and 2 hours PM one or two days at the event
    Duration: Training day, ride planning and a weekend
