    an Edinburgh tram moving!

barely! I hope they're a bit more sprightly when loaded with 200 eager punters.

That is quite obviously CGI, we all know these are just fibre glass mock-ups even the so called test vehicles in Spain!

I nearly came a cropper the other day when turning right from Princes St into Waverley Bridge, having cruised between the tracks for most of the length of the street. That was probably my mistake, because although it was bone dry, I crossed the rails at just too shallow an angle and my front wheel bumped across, hesitated, then bumped back into the groove before being made to go where I wanted it.

Fortunately my ninja cycling skillz saved the day, but it was a close run thing.

In the many times I've cycled over the tram tracks on the Croydon Tramlink, I've only once come off when I crossed them at the wrong angle when trying to get through a set of lights whilst still green.

As with any cycling, you just need to be careful with how you do it.

"I've only once come off when I crossed them at the wrong angle"

That's the way to do it.

    BUT

There's a case in today's ENews where someone came off after apparently being 'forced' into the tracks at effectively no angle - so that's perhaps an issue for the actual road layout/markings.

Don't know if Croydon has anything to teach Edinburgh(?)
