Leamington Br. yarn bombing

    Leamington Bridge got yarn bombed today. Surprised no one on here mentioned it yet...

    I took some photos and then spotted that it is a thing organised by the canals people (as opposed to a thing done in a more anarchic way to make a point).

    Bah. Pseudo-bombing.

    Noticed new canals twitter account being active. Not particularly forthcoming in response to my queries about the path at Harrison park. One of those accounts that tweets out, but doesn't like answering back.

    They've got a plan for new moorings at Polwarth by the church too. Big question is will they push the canoe club out as well...

    I've heard rumblings recently about the canoe club. Something along the lines of them only having use of half the building length wise as the other half belongs to one of the local houses. Then the wall collapsed or something.

    @SRD may have a link to share that shows how the canoe club heavily responsible for canal regeneration? Then struggling to establish their boat house. If I was them I would be peeved.

    On Thursday evenings (April to October) we meet and paddle on the canal at our boathouse from 18:30. All canoeists welcome. If you are not yet able to paddle to a 1 star standard sign up to the beginners courses below.

    Children are welcome but should be suitably supervised, coaches are present at club nights but we can't promise anyone special attention.

    2015 Season
    Club nights start with an opening barbeque on Thu April 2nd from 18:30.

    The season ends on 29th October with a closing barbeque.

    New Paddlers Open Nights
    Non-paddlers and new paddlers are welcome on these Thursday club nights (first Thursday of each month). There will be a helper on the water. Sessions will be limited depending on the demand on the night. Bring full change of clothes, towel, suitable shoes. You don't need to book this - just turn up :)
