Just had an off in holyrood park during my standard lunchtime laps. Wasn't even going half the speed I would usually carry through the roundabouts and still lost the front and back wheel on the roundabout by parliament and horse Wynd. Quite a sore off, and smashed my shifter :(

I think it's that "rubber/oil/other crap from cars plus no a bit of rain" thing.

So be careful on the corners out there folks!

ouch - thanks for the warning - will be going there a few times later so will be careful. I hope you aren't too bruised, and you find a replacement shifter...

  3. Yeah, just rode down from Morrison Street to Broughton Street and was uber-tentative. Hope all heals Alex!

Someone in the work changing room was complaining about a fall caused by diesel on the road this morning.

@ARobComp - Ouchies. Sorry to hear of your fall. I've seen someone else go down at the exact same spot.

Last time there was rain I noticed a LOT of diesel all the way from that roundabout, through the park to Meadowbank, then up the bus lane on London Road to Jock's Lodge. Pretty much right where I would want to occupy the lane too. Take care out there.

Given the high price of fuel you would think people would want to keep it in their tanks....

On an after thought I've just been and checked my helmet which I'd not thought to do. Thankfully absolutely fine - which is good!

Anyone need a left side Ultegra 11spd shifter btw? I'll have one surplus one tomorrow...

Sorry to hear about your crash. I noticed a few bits of slippy leaf jam about after all the wind blowing greenery off.

I hope you are feeling better soon aRobComp. On the plus side perhaps left shifters are more in demand as racers will go down on left-handers more than right.
