To provide a strategic perspective on the financial challenges, the Council, supported by key public sector partner organisations, has organised aCity Budget Summit.
Speakers at the summit will include Jenny Dawe, Edinburgh City Council Leader, Steve Cardownie, Deputy Leader and Tom Aitchison, Chief Executive of Edinburgh City Council along with other leading members of public bodies within the city.
The summit will allow delegates:
- to better understand and consider the financial challenges facing the Council and key public sector partners, and the accompanying impact on the business and voluntary sectors
- to discuss the budget choices facing the Council and partners
- to set this in a strategic context, trying to make the right decisions for the city over the next 3-5 years, helping to ensure the city retains its competitive edge by maintaining a robust and successful economy.
This summit will take place on the morning of Friday 15 October 2010 at Scotsman Head Office, 108 Holyrood Road, Edinburgh, EH8 8AS.
