    When I try to explain my newfound clipped in-ness to non-bike people they rightly look horrified, and couple their looks with lots of comments about things being dangerous or silly or both. It is clearly strange to non-cycling people to glue your feet to a bike.

    Falling clipped in it's a rite of passage. I have done it myself a couple of times when learning to ride clipless, same as when learning ice skating, and indeed going back in time when riding a bike without stabilizers or walking.
    Past the initial fear there is a whole world of wonders ahead.

    The strange thing will be when you ride a bike with standard peddles, it'll feel alien and little out of control not to be attached!

    Flat pedal bikes are too weird now and I've only ever used cages and straps.

    Clipless with casual shoes like that would be fun though. Tempting.

    Yes, nice shoes. What size do they go up to?

    Edit: Specialized Cadet. Men's/women's versions. Both come in blue or black. Interesting.
