    Someone in our Bristol office has posted on our BUG website that the local police have targeted a gang of bike thieves. Over 1500 stolen bikes have been recovered!

    They must have been working on an industrial scale. I thought the business model was to shift bikes as quickly as possible.

    Big job to now try to reunite the bikes with owners.

    Record your serial numbers and take photos, folks. It's the best chance you have!

    Great news. Thieves of two wheeled vehicles should be staked out for the ravens.

    I watched curiously last night in the grounds of Cameron Toll as two guys obviously haggled over a nice mountain bike which one had just taken out of the back of a blue transit. Who sells a bike from a van in a supermarket car park? Raven food, that's who but what are you supposed to do?

    "but what are you supposed to do?"

    Suggest the police look at CCTC?

    In an ideal world you are correct. In this world all I saw was two blokes, a van and a bike. Bit thin for Crimestoppers, no?

    Well...

    'We' kinda know police (often) don't seem to take much interest in stolen bikes, but might already know something about blue transit/Cameron Toll so might help.

    @Iwrats - Who sells a bike from a van in a supermarket car park?

    Unlike those of this parish who meet under station clocks...

    Perhaps the benefit of the doubt may be offered here? Given that the general advice to online sellers is to meet in a public place, a supermarket carpark could well be an easy landmark.

    <tongue inserted into cheek>

    That said, all transit van drivers are the same in any case, even if they're not driving a white one...

    Ah, but I had a winning grin, which clearly makes me trustworthy.

    The defence rests.
