Very sad - especially on your lunchbreak, not what you'd expect at all! :(
At least it wasn't insinuated that he was responsible for his own death (even by the BBC). Small consolation but something that I always think must be horrible for the relatives when it happens.

Only last week I was visiting Whitelee wind farm. The B764 has been converted from one lane in each direction to one narrow lane plus a honking big cycle lane, in each direction. The place is quite exposed and the sightlines are excellent. And given the low traffic, it's not like there are no passing opportunities.
