Cycling jokes, but so far pro-cyclist.

That was quite an extraordinary performance from Alexis Sayle. Wonder if we can get him to do POP next year?

Mr Sayel is a cyclist. He has been for years and even writes about it sometimes.

I read one of his novels which has a builder who is forced to cycle iirc. All his children had names with one letter wrong like "Adom". He set up road works just see how long people would put up with them. It was quite entertaining. His short story collection Barcelona Plates was also enjoyable.

It was weird because he clearly realised about 3/4 of the way in that once he'd raised the issue of women being killed by lorries, something he obviously felt pretty strongly about, there were no jokes to be had. He obviously knew what he was talking about, though.

  7. Just caught up on iPlayer (not just cos there was something on cycling, love the Now Show) and that was rather good. Aye, there was that moment where you were thinking, this is just a list of dead people.... But he did it really well.

is that who it was? i didn't realise.

yes, it started out good and funny and ended good and rather serious.

i liked his try to run it into a joke on himself.

I think he's great, not listened to The Now Show yet, but does he work for youngsters?

Reasonably happy with Miles Jupp as the next chair of the News Quiz.

  12. Me too ;-) Unfortunately, it would be impolite of me to explain the acronym on such a civilised forum.

Just head to the iPlayer Radio and check it out there instead!
