cycling into learmonth gardens from cobbles- comely bank avenue today, indicated to turn left and hit the cobbles with a splat. More embarrassed than hurt and drivers all stopped and helped. First smack on the road and no tears - life is good. So hey- lets be careful out there

There are some good people you see!

Rain today did make for this sort of thing. I noticed it earlier on the Meadows slippery tactiles....

    Glad you are ok though.

Got mildly paranoid when I came across significant diesel(?) spillage Leith St to N Bridge -

Cycled cautiously with no 'leaning into corners'.

    Survived, but not pleasant.

That diesel spill had worked its way down Calton Road towards the back entrance to Waverley as well. Must have been a particularly leaky fuel tank...

Not good. After a big crash a few years ago when I ended up stopping my bike using my face I now get the fear when I see a rainbow road.

    It's alright I only took 2 pix.

I was on 17" Kojak slicks.

Didn't actually slip, but certainly unnerving.

Report diesel spillage to Clarence? My husband had a leaky Defender in Nottingham a while ago, kindly phoned it in to the council to clear up, and they then sent him a bill for £100-ish for the work involved. Puts him off reporting it next time of course!
