MORE foreign companies are flocking to the Capital than ever before, it has been revealed – pumping millions of pounds into the city’s economy.

July saw the biggest number of overseas firms announce they were setting up home in Edinburgh in any month since records began in May 2008.

Experts said the business boom was down to the city’s flourishing technology sector and world-famous universities.

And they insisted many companies were choosing Edinburgh as a “lifestyle choice” due to its desirability as a location and cheap prices in comparison to London.

Certainly a fair few building sites at the moment. The St. Andrews square site is coming on. The new quarter at East market St and old bus station will have the hotel ready soon.

Elsewhere, Herriot watt looks to be building a huge poly tunnel where the sports centre used to be, with big astro turf pitches for the jambos and long dalmahoy road has had many patches and indeed still has many small squares cut into it awaiting patches. The section from ravelrig road east to the next farm road (ends at railway line but continues after crossing line as old newmills road) is shut mon - fri next week, maybe I should stick this info in a more relevant post in case anyone can't get through and has to take an almighty detour up one hill and then down another.

    Really? Wasn't aware of that.

Public money being spent on a club owned by a millionairess.

    Can't fathom that.

Britain is very corrupt. See the book by Dave Boy Whyte - How corrupt is Britain?

Perhaps there is payment? Hearts have been training at Herriot watt for years. There is a good training pitch next to tynecastle but it is owned by the whisky bond and they would never let hearts have it. The school was allowed to use it and accessed it by going through the stadium. School now across the road and has its own astro pitches.

Given the season has just kicked off , not sure where hearts have been this summer for training as the Herriot watt place is a building site.
