Bruno's Diner at Tollcross.
I've not tried it out yet, but planning to one morning when I'm feeling in the mood for being bad about gluten. Pancakes or waffles...?

Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.

Mmm, nice find. Have been on the lookout for American style breakfast fare for family excursions at the weekend. Remarkably few options in Edinburgh, the Filling Station being the only one I've found.
Can one follow pancakes by cheery pie for breakfast?
@Weezee I believe the Smokestack on Broughton Street has re-purposed itself from steak and burgers to more American diner fare.
City Cafe's alright too (not to be confused with the City Restaurant).
I like the sound of cheery pie. :-)
Cheery pie with a side order of cherries. ☺
