Incorrect BB Code breaking pages

    I think the BB code needs sanitised. I notice the version of bbPress is very old, maybe an update is required?

    I just made a post with a [ LIST ] and some [ * ] and [/ *] tags but I forgot to close with a [/ LIST].

    This caused the page content following my post to break. Fortunately the address bar had the post id so i was able to craft a link to edit the post and fix my mistake.

    (I realise this site is run solely at the cost, time and effort of chdot and I appreciate it! I don't want to sound ungrateful and I know the amount of effort it can take to upgrade forum software :-))

    Unfortunately the list tags do that.

    Fortunately not many people have wanted to use them

    It might be possible to take the 'option' away.

    (Actually the technical side now has some important input from someone else!)

    @CJC - We're currently in the situation where the next release of BBPress is more wordpress and less BB, and is quite different.

    Therefore any update is going to be a big change to the site. For the moment we've chased down some of the big problems we were having and I try to keep an eye out for erros. So for a while the current setup is okay. But at some stage an "upgrade" will indeed be needed.

    I'll try and have a dig through the code and see what I can do about open tags for the moment.
