Any one know where I can get a 30x10mm spring to replace the one from my SQR block? Mine seems to have been sprung.

  2. When mine sprung I bought a box of springs of various sizes and one of the larger ones works fine. Can see if I've got some spare if you want?

Where did you get the box from WC? I don't mind buying a small box, I'm not sure when I'd get in to town to meet you.

  4. I think it was just Amazon in the end! Thought having a box of springs would be useful. As you do. Have had it a couple of years now.... And used one spring...

Amir gets the caramel shortbread. Margaret from Carradice is sorting me with a spring. Should have thought of that in the first place. Cheers any way WC.

Carradice customer service is brilliant - I have had replacement bits for my SQR twice (due to overtightening by me) without question.

I decided against asking if they had the wooden stiffening dowel which I broke when I fell off.

Managed to bodge an old chair spindle and it works a treat.

Ditto Nelly's experiences. The velco on my racktop back had stopped being, er, loopy enough to secure it. I'd asked where I could get some straps and buckles to replace the velco with something more clippy and got some free a few days later in the post.

Yeah my dowel arrived with a knot in the wood and I was concerned it might snap when heavily loaded so I emailed and got a replacement within a few days. Turns out the guys that build these bags know more than me as the original dowel is still fine despite having serious weight hanging from it on bumpy off road trails.

But for reference B&Q sell dowel cheap.

And guess what was waiting for me when I got home. Yup, one spring.
