So, my work has a staff intranet. Part of it is devoted to staff stories, for example about charity work or if someone has an interesting hobby.
Yesterday's article was about a guy in one of our London offices who is an elite amateur road cyclist and who cycles 50 miles to work as part of his training. All very interesting, and also used to publicise the workplace cycle facilities, bike to work scheme etc.
People can comment on articles and the first thirty or so were very positive: asking about the guy's racing, talking about their own commute, asking for advice about starting cycling to work (I gave a plug for CycleFridays).
And then it started....
"They don't pay road tax...jump red lights...pavement cyclists...."
It's a workplace intranet forum for goodness sake! Can't these people stay on the EEN/Daily Mail!
