Moped warning

    via the POP facebook group (apologies if it's a repeat of something already here):

    Cyclists be careful! There is a moped on the cycle path near Telford & Ferrry rd near the red bridge (Edinburgh). 3teen boys driving it; SM07 CU0. They're driving fast and beeping their horn and being very intimidating. This afternoon they dropped onto the path at Easter drylaw park and followed me until I was on my own just beyond the red bridge and tried to push me off my bike. The police have an open case on them, but they are targeting cyclists. Please be aware, stay safe and call the police if you see them. Please share

    I happened to pass that way when returning from an afternoon ride to Crammond with my brother, who was asked by a policeman (on foot) if we had spotted anything matching that description... Fortunately we hadn't.

    From the discussion on Facebook, they seem to be particularly harassing female cyclists, which is a bit worrying

    Saw a fragment of licence plate at the chicane-y bit next to the park this morning. Maybe the moped came a bit of cropper? Can't imagine too many other motor vehicles being down there... you'd hope not anyway, eh?

    From the discussion on Facebook, it's worth going all out to catch these scrotes - not only is the moped stolen, but they've already pushed one woman off her bike and attempted to do the same to another.

    I've said it before and I'll say it again - I am extremely liberal in most regards, but anyone who steals and misuses a two-wheeled vehicle or carriage should be staked out naked for the ravens on the summit of Schiehallion.
