Dutch bikes

    We are off to the Netherlands next week on hire bikes. Gazelles I believe. Are they generally 700cc? I know it might be variable. I want to take a spare tube. Ta

    They should be able to provide such? I hired a racing bike on Menorca and they provided a spares repair kit but were suprised when I turned up with a larger repair kit and spare tubes than they had provided.

    If my reading of blogs like Copenhagenize is correct, you'll be considered as certifiable for contemplating fixing your own puncture or carrying tools, spares etc.

    I'd put good money on them being mid-sized 700c, around about 35s?

    Almost all hire bikes in NL have Marathon Plus or equivalent bomb proof tyres.....

    Some may even now have Tannus and other foam tyres, which for the type of use they get are perfectly serviceable.
