Missed start yesterday at noon so most stuff gone. They have their very good Harrington jacket in a beige colour they call Sahara? In size large or size XL for £75. Not massively keen on the colour but the jacket is good. It is cotton but waterproof. You reproof it by washing it normally then tumble drying. If anyone has a tumble dryer they rent out, I need to do this.

I went for a waterproof cap. You know, just in case it rains. Well it might.

I managed to get in quick and bought a pair of the rainproof trousers although taking a gamble on the size. I nearly bought a pair at £90 the other week, but thought better of it; £40 is worth a punt.

Had shocking customer service from Vulpine in a recent order. Will not be buying from them again.

Their customer service structure is shoddy but the people themselves are nice. I have the waterproof shorts they are great.

They are going for a new website so hopefully will improve.

Nice spot Gembo, my current endura rainjacket is totally trashed and not waterproof, so picked up one of theirs (sahara again, but hey, we can both be trendsetters :-)

    Bargain at £50 - cheers !

@nelly, yes a Bargain. Showers kept out as the water beads on the surface. The sleeves are a little roomy at the cuffs but if used with chunkier waterproof gloves then ingress reduced. Dries quite quickly in summer. Pocket arrangement good.

If I had one of those modern beards I could have been a vulpine man this morning on my cycle to Jupiter art land. Torm brand green merino long sleeve, with red and white stripe on sleeves. Blue vulpine shorts, black normal shoes from Barnett ( supposedly waterproof) and fake ray bans. Worked as manager at Jupiter very friendly and twenty per cent off Nick nacks in their shop this bank hol, so bought vase for my mum to give to my wife for her birthday. Very nice flat white in their cafe. I appear to be living the dream. Please do not tell my man Jeremy Corbyn. I will describe the route in I had a lovely ride thread as I saw almost no cars and it was fab.

@gembo - mine arrived yesterday - I got two sizes as I wasnt sure about sizing.

Larger one is a great fit and my arbiter of good taste (wife) thinks it looks quite good too.

    Cheers again for the tip.

CCE - also saves you cash !

My trousers arrived today. Glad I got a size larger than normal, otherwise they may have been a bit too hipster skinny for my liking. Will wait to test out the water resistance.

    [Vulpine Rain Jacket quick review;

    Pros -

Looks great, well designed, good fit

Works well in light showers - as Gembo noted above, water just beads on the surface - great stuff !!

    Cons -

Persistent Heavy Rain (say on a half hour commute?) Not quite up to the job (but then unless you pay fortunes, nothing is really).

Breathability is suspect (probably because its tight weave cotton and has been treated with silicon) is not as good as some man made jackets.

    Overall -

A nice jacket, perhaps more suited to colder drizzly days rather than warmer rainy days.

Glad I payed £50, not the RRP of £195

Similar comments on the rainproof trousers. Very comfortable, shower proof but not up to a prolonged soaking. Happy I paid £40 and not the full whack.

Rain today was of the very extremely wet variety.. Not big drops but millions and millions of little ones. However, I agree the vulpine cotton is good for showers and not massively breathable which would be bad this week as it is not cold.
