Google's self-driving cars are really confused by 'hipster bicyclists' and their fixies

IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

For its part, Google says it is trying to take cyclists seriously. The company has patented a method by which self-driving cars can identify cyclists and understand their hand signals.
Though Google still hasn’t answered the question of why hipsters love fixed-gear bikes so much.

Maybe hipsters will move on to driverless cars?
Not just hipsters who track stand. Disappointingly not possible to see in the video whether the chap track standing on the fixie has a beard. Like the video they have just repeated a single forward backward track stand on a loop? So looks like the guy is track standing for eternity? Though I only watched for a finite length of time so cannot make this assertion with 100 per cent certainty
That is quite funny! I am surprised he played with it for a whole two minutes though. Maybe he just enjoys showing off his extreme track standing skills?
I suppose if it was just him and the car he would have got bored quicker, but since there were two test engineers/co-pilots as an audience he was getting more fun out of it.
They would have just overridden it if they had wanted to.
