A “NORWEGIAN-STYLE” marina is set to be built in the shadow of the Forth Road Bridge and Queensferry Crossing under plans aimed at creating a new landmark on the shore.

Developers behind the Port Edgar Marina project said the proposed site – located to the west of South Queensferry and close to the World Heritage-listed Forth Bridge – would boast a restaurant with “floor to ceiling” glazing and “stunning” views across the water.

A good opportunity to reroute Cycle Route 76 (and the John Muir Way)?

The bridge with WH-listing is the Bridge, i.e. the rail bridge. If the new marina is west of South Queensferry therefore in the current vicinity of Port Edgar (where indeed this application is for), then it's a bit misleading to describe it as close that particular bridge when there are two others (well, one and a bit) even closer!

The hotel just over the road bridge from Sth Queensferry (at one time the Queensferry Lodge) was once branded the North Edinburgh. Some marketing drones have no concept of location as long as they can shift "product".

    A “NORWEGIAN-STYLE” marina

    Mooring for longships only?

Maybe it's a tenner a pint at the marina bar? That, the timber clad exterior and all the guests arriving in huge 4x4s would make it 'Norwegian style".
