If like me you had you bike marked at the Spokes Bike Breakfast 2015, you might want to take a look at the BikeRegister database and check that it is on the database.

I recently when to check the details only to find that my bike wasn't there. Even though I have the number the police had marked on the frame, I just couldn't find it. I phoned BikeRegister and was told that they have no record of the number, but that sometimes the police are slow are updating the database and suggested I talk to them.

So then I contacted the police to ask about this, and after a bit of a delay the reply came back that "on checking the box we found a batch that had not been input - this has now been rectified and all details sent on."

If your details aren't there let me know and I can pass on the details of the person to talk to.

Also worth mentioning that BikeRegister also provides for transferring ownership of a bike when you sell it.

Not totally sure what happens if you have your bike resprayed, though. Do they issue a new security sticker?
