Drop down kerb at Davidsons Mains park at East Barnton Avenue, very welcome.
Also talk of improving the link path from Tescos to the Drylaw path
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 16years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

I went along that link path in the dark the other night. Fairly dire. Improvement would be very welcome!
"Also talk of improving the link path from Tescos to the Drylaw path"
There's been "talk" for more than 20 years.
Conversations used to include 'we don't know who owns it'.
Both Safeway (then) and the council claimed it was the other!
I think it was firmly established that it was the council. That was before Sustrans chose a parallel route for the NCN.
Clearly all too much trouble to sort out tarmacing a route to a 'major destination'.
Bizarre really.
And CEC says it wants to encourage ActiveTravel.
@chdot - indeed. I think the last bout of talk and no action was 2(?) years ago when a cyclist was nearly garrotted by someone putting up a wire/rope. I seem to recall many local councillors were to look into installing lighting and tarmacing.
Oooh. That dropped kerb is exciting news...they do happen.
In other dropped kerb news, I've heard that East Craigs' Dropped Kerb Programme is due to be complete by the end of the year. Not sure how comprehensive it will be, but it will certainly be welcomed as EC is bereft of them as they obviously weren't in favour in the sixties.
I've still got quite a few others that are on my nagging list with the council, though...
Oh, where did you hear that from? I've not seen any so far.
@ac it was a response to a nagging email I sent them detailing the whole list of items that I've previously written to them about but not seen any action.
Some other local AT changes could be on their way too.
I got a puncture from broken glass on that cut through from the supermarket in c.1995.
@Hankchief, I guessing a segragated lane over the top of Maybury is too much to hope for.
We can but hope...
I'll let them sort the 'easy' fixes on my current list before we aim big.
"I'll let them sort the 'easy' fixes on my current list before we aim big."
Maybe the 'bigger' list shouldn't go to local team.
Some previous things here -
thanks for the emails hankchief. I wonder if I can talk them into adding my extra pavement while they're doing the kerbs.
chdot, I've added it to the list.
