@Stickman Good news about 'Mimi's Bakehouse' - providers of loads of tasty breakfasts for the night ride at the Festival of Cycling a couple of years back.
Is this going to be @hartscyclery nearest cafe?

I've taken the bike trailer (with mini me) into Saltyard without eyes being rolled. Nice place.

@gembo Greenshoots is a little further up... On a side street with Bensons Beds on the corner.

@gembo- went on a little diversion on my way to work this morning, so I could add greenshoots to OpenStreetMap - it's here: http://www.openstreetmap.org/node/4009372290

Finally visited the Boardwalk Beach Club today.

Really impressed with what they've done with it: nice fun atmosphere with lots of outdoor seating. As we were leaving a group of cyclists arrived and I heard one of the staff say that they were getting racks installed.

Hope it does well, they've put a lot of effort into it and it's a great location.

Green shoots sadly closing this weekend - the shop side has big reductions on soap and Nick nacks. Coffee very good.

Out at Gifford - the Lanterne Rouge was very welcoming today.

Goblin Ha' was tempting of course but the bike racks right outside LR had spaces.

Love the table with bike wheel complete with rear block under glass.

So let us have the same in Inverleith – there must be a bright spark out there who would help brighten my morning walk.

Not sure if it's in this thread already but I stopped at The Granary cafe in Linlithgow last week. Nearest bike rack is a few yards away and obscured by a large red bin but that would be the only slight negative from me. When the toilet is great the rest usually follows imo and that is the case here; very friendly/helpful staff, comfortable, great coffee and great food. Also, it opens at 8am during the week (closed Mondays) although I was advised that food may not be available until 8:30.

I sat at the window watching the world go by - if only, I end up focusing on what drivers are doing, lots of distracted driving at well above the 20mph limit I would think.

Just about meets the 'on the way home' route requirement for me with an easy 1.5 hours cycling back to base.

Cafe in biggar east end across from the posh chippy. Friendly staff, lovely double espresso and banoffee pie this morning. Massive amount of dairy cow puns on the signs. Extra signs indeed to cope.

E.g. sign for the loos I Am Udderly Bursting. Actuall signs on loos is Bulls\Cows. And Calves

    I Am Udderly Bursting

Having used the ladies instead of the gents in various cafes and pubs (e.g. The Rumbin' Tum in Moffat) these understandable ones make me happy.

And a shout out for Molly's (no relation) in Juniper Green. Signposted Cafe/Juniper Green a short way from the Water Of Leith Walkway. They seem to make a lot of cake.

Artisan Cafe just off the A82, about a mile south of Tydrum. Great food, cake and coffee in an old church with a playable organ. A bit quieter/more relaxing than the hotspots up the road but might get cold in winter.

Noticed new cafe in East Saltoun. The Bothy.

Cycling Mollie has maybe been already but nice to have another place out that way.

Lanterne Rouge was stacked today around 12.

Edinburgh is second only to Brighton in the number of cafés per head of population stakes in the UK.

Maybe we're about to overtake Brighton. I noticed a new cafe opposite the Shell garage in Corstorphine a couple of weeks ago and, this week, a coffee shop opening soon next the RBS. They may now even outnumber charity shops in Corstorphine.

Blueth: we do seem to have an over supply of cafes in Corstorphine just now. Not been in the one opposite the shell garage yet, it does seem a brave choice of location given it is up a one way street that you can't easily access from the main road.

I wish them (all) well but there is only some many cakes I can eat a week...

someone mentioned Ronde has gone into receivership - anyone hear/know about this ?

One less coffee shop in Stockbridge, we will have to carry on as best we can.

Try harder, then you’ll need to cycle more!

Hmm. Hardly ever in the Ronde café but they do make a good brownie. Though they might have more customers if they didn't radiate "who are you and why are you in our fancy bike shop, lumpy peasant? P.S. now I will mansplain gloves to you."

Ronde's facebook page was saying it had closed early on Saturday due to a power cut. Perhaps it being shut at an unexpected time led to the rumour?
