    Do Aldi have an annual winter cycling event coming up? I could do with a couple of things for the winter commuting.

    not sure if they have one this side of Xmas?

    Cheers,

    There was one 24 September, not sure if they will do another one before Christmas. Sorry, not much help really!

    The Gorgie Aldi still has quite a lot of stock from that event.

    @beano have you tried decathlon? similar price range? we've been fairly happy with the stuff we've gotten from them so far.

    +1 for decathlon gear; not just the cycling stuff. I bought a skiing base layer for £5 and it's one of the warmest tops I've ever had. They've also got some decent merino tops as well, starting at around £15.

    I need to get a HI-vis jacket as a bus driver opened the door when passing and advised me to get one last week, I am sure I noticed one somewhere was it Aldi or Lidl that had those in recently?

    @Ed1

    You can get a Hi Viz bib thing to go over your jacket from Poundland. Should be about a pound. ;-)

    @ed1 if you want to go a bit more hi-end, there are often deals on the old styles of Altura hiviuz jackets when the new season ones come out. Not 'cheap' but substantial reductions on the original prices - easily 1/2 off if you're not fussy about the colour. and they seem to wear well.

    Another +1 for Decathlon. There £40 down is warmest thing I've ever owned. Not ideal when cycling but packs down in to less than 4l so ideal for stowing in a bag when you get off.
