Great, although I see the link to the politicians page contains last years attendees.

If you don't always do so then remember to use Strava tomorrow so we can all be part of an awesome flyby. Bonus points for bike or POP shaped segments on the way.

Having sprinted my way 25 or 30 miles around London today, in a madcap dash of sightseeing and traffic jamming I'm quite looking forward to doing a really slow, really safe ride tomorrow.

Just in case anyone was wondering, it is possible to leave to head of the peleton as it arrives at Holyrood and cycle back up the hill and join the tail of POP before it leaves the Meadows. This year I will be wrangling children, so will not try it again.

That was my favourite pop so far. Alison Johnstone gave a good speech. KD looking happy in chdot's pictures, my hat up the very back. Other very good hats also on heads. Loads of kids having fun. Animal skulls, and equal rolls for women protestor (she had covered herself in bread rolls and cling film and said Nicola sturgeon was her roll model)

Just back from another fantastic POP.
I'd like to thank everyone who is involved in organising this. It might often feel like a thankless task but hopefully when you see scenes like we did today you will feel it was worth it. Certainly I'm sure I'm not the only person who wishes for better active travel conditions in this country, but who is not involved directly with POP, that is very grateful for the work you do to make it happen. Cheers.

@chdot. Great photies. I've done a link to them on Spokes Facebook & given you an acknowledgement. I hope that's ok - let me know if not.

Well done everyone. Great turnout. I am reliably informed that in took 41 minutes for the entire peleton to pass Grey Friars Bobby.

Is there a count? I had the impression there were more than last year. Quite a sight stretching round the Meadows.

That was very enjoyable. Well done everyone who organised it and took part. Who was the person who made the speech that compared road conditions with health and safety at work? That was a compelling argument.

Cm: it was Denise Marshall, one of the organising team apfor PoP. I agree, it is a good comparison to make.

Edit: Shaun recorded a video of the speeches, available on YouTube http://youtu.be/WH2ioLFsKI4?a

@biketrain I joined the end of the line a little after 12:30pm and we made slow but steady progress (I stopped to pick up a few dropped flags) along the route so that sounds about right. It was good to be more involved this year and it seemed like it all went very well, which was satisfying.

POP lead item on STV News. and they included interviews with Nicola Sturgeon and Ruth Davidson (conspicuous by their absence) in which they asked them about active travel commitments. Quite a lot of ums and errs...

Enjoyed my first POP. Amazing to see so many people out on bikes! I expected to be right at the back, having punctured on approach. I started at the point where 3 paths meet the south path and there were plenty behind once we got going.

I think I spotted some of you, though not totally sure. I saw three people on recumbent bikes so statistically, at least one of them must post on here.

Rather peed off with Ruth Davidson not coming. She sits in a tank, rides a buffalo - why not get on a cycle?

Good turn out from other political parties.

All most excellent - many thanks to the (slightly broken) organisers!

Gembo's hat, which I was privileged to encounter, was a thing of true beauty.

Even if Politicians turn up and make promises when decisions are made locally that will make a difference but impact on a handful of other people e.g. The roseburn route politicians do not follow through with their promises?

Anyway a big thank you to the pop organisers and Marshalls and to everyone who showed up to make the event a grassroots success.

@gembo's rasta toorie bunnet with cheese platter and wine-tanking 70s Provo-alike mate.

Excellent and genial chat with frankly bonkers Indy Camp inhabitants.

    Many happy faces. Good stuff.

Don't think first photo is from (any) PoP!

Wonder if this comment will be removed, or acted on...

Why have a photo of the legs (only) of a woman cyclist in a mini skirt? I was at PoP to-day and most people were covered up, as it was quite cold, and wore high viz clothing. This is so sexist it takes your breath away and detracts from the story. Shameful. Whose editorial decision was that? do you want better pictures? I've got loads of the crowds at the Meadows or at the Parliament.

@chdot just to compound things, my view of the Herald article (the photo for which has yet to be changed) also showed me an advert for "Fitness Singles - Meet single cyclists! Don't wait! Join now!" which was accompanied by a picture of an attractive young lady wearing shorts, a tight top and a helmet, holding a drinks bottle in one hand and a bicycle handlebar in the other.

    @jdanielp

Odd - I get an advert suggesting I should make small regular overpayments on a Bank of Scotland mortgage.

The leg photo is an outrage though.

@IWRATS do you have a BoS mortgage? I'm not single so they have got that wrong.
