"Councillor Steve Cardownie, Deputy Lord Provost, said: “[...] Families will love it"
    "

Sitting in a freezing car for two hours, kids in the back complaining that they can't see the screen (a) through their parents heads and (b) through the rain and mist.
Breathing in the fumes from nearby cars who will inevitably run their engines.
Queuing for 40 minutes at the end to get out of the field to deal with the usual traffic at the Gyle.

    Sounds great!

I really enjoyed visiting the drive-in at San Luis Obispo, a genuine American family experience. We saw two features, ate sweets whose names we only knew from TV (Milk Duds!) and delighted in seeing kids in their pyjamas making pillow forts on the backs of huge SUVs.

But it was firmly a Californian experience that I wouldn't attempt on any but the warmest of UK days!

That's clearly a press release simply reprinted. Have standards slumped that badly?

    Yes.

Due to get worse in that building soon (even fewer staff).

    "...Deputy Lord Provost..."

Deputy Lord doesn't sound right, whilst being perfectly descriptive. Lordling? Lordlet? What's the rank beneath Lord in the posho system? Lords' sons are Honourables but the eldest ones assume Lordship upon their accession.

I assume Lord Provost is a position rather than a title so I think can have a deputy.

Yes. Hence "doesn't sound right, whilst being perfectly descriptive".

Ah, I see what you're saying now. Perhaps Provost Underbling would be a suitable title then.

Just Deputy Provost. Adding Lord is just over egging it.

Sadly seeing this more and more. I'd guess 80% of the Royal High stuff was press releases from the developer re-written by a junior.
