    Hi All,

Upon getting to the bottom of Lothian Road today I discovered that the 4ft Orange Trek flag has been rattled off the back of my son's tagalong. Child no 2 is a bit upset about it :-(

In the unlikely event that anyone has seen/picked it up, can you give me a shout please? It will have come off somewhere between Canaan Lane / Newbattle Terrace / Whitehouse Loan / Bruntsfield Links / Lothian Road.

Basically, along this route between South Morningside Primary and the bottom of Lothian Road.

    Thanks all.

Yes. They get very attached to things that get lost. Remember having to loop back round to parks to pick up assorted dolls etc but I was self employed so could work round it.

I only have an extra ICE trike flag in three sections. Not orange!

Hope it turns up or you get an exact copy.

If the flag is not recovered, I can recommend:

    http://www.raindropkites.co.uk/banners/bentflags.html

as being really good at making flags. Occupying a somewhat niche market, but some nice designs and really solidly put together.

Feedback from the Glasgow Walk/Cycle/Vote ride was that one made for a very visible back marker :)

Thanks LB & DS for the thoughts. I was heading to work so backtrack was not possible.

I made it a bit of a game today for him to keep a good look out for it. Didn't find it but he tells me he hopes to see it tonight. The innocence of youth.

I think we'll have a look at the raindropkites site and maybe pick one of these, they look ideal. Any suggestions on a suitable replacement for the stick and where to buy? Garden greenstick perhaps but maybe a bit bendy?

I really like the one I ended up with. She apparently makes custom designs at no extra cost either, so if there's a particular image that mini-condor fancies you might be onto a winner.

I used a B&Q fake green plastic garden cane. Was stiff enough despite using the full 2m length, so I imagine a version cut down to a more practical length would be spot on...
