    Hello folks,

Not sure if this has been asked before in a different context, but I'm keen to include a representative of the CCE forum at an upcoming stakeholder event next Thursday in the city centre. The meeting is from 12 - 1.30pm and we're expecting attendees from across the cycling spectrum in Edinburgh. I feel it would be completely remiss not to include CCE and am hoping someone might be interested and available to attend?

The meeting is to discuss an upcoming cycling initiative called the Edinburgh Cycle Challenge. No doubt I will pop up a dedicated thread to it in the coming weeks, but in the interim I'd be really pleased if someone would like to come along next week.

If this is of interest, please just drop me a DM or pop something up on the thread and I can get in touch. Thanks!

I'm sure wingpig will 'represent' general views and desires of most people on here very well.

HankChief appeared before the Transport Committee once 'from CCE' saying 'something must be done about Gogar Station Road'

    And look what happened!

Of course CCE isn't an organisation in a normal sense, but it does have members who (I presume) all want better facilities/conditions for people who ride bikes - AND more people on bikes!

I'm sure there would be room for another CCEer at this meeting.

I was half-way through a disclaimer of the impossibility of official representation on the basis of a: it's chdot's and b: it's not an organisation as such when the above were added.

From looking at the gubbins it would possibly be useful to have at least one hopeful/new/returning/struggling-to-persevere cyclist attend, in addition to an all-weather multi-purpose cold-resistant dynohub-using bus-interior-climate-disliking unnecessary-driving-abhorring determined-despite-TIE full-toolkit-in-pannier-toter.

Yes, absolutely folks. I know several returning-to riders via Belles, but the day-time slot makes it a bit tricky for them to attend. If you know of anyone that is keen to get back on their bike and learn more about the project please put them in touch with me.

I'm very keen to have a CCE regular(s) at the meeting - this is a very robust, friendly and important community in Edinburgh for cycling and it deserves representation and input.

    "a: it's chdot's"

    Well yes...

    BUT (mostly) no.

"this is a very robust, friendly and important community in Edinburgh for cycling"

That's a nice compliment (not for me - but everyone who has made, and still makes, this happen).
