Porty currency?

  1. The thing is that used to be a perfectly reasonable road to cycle on. There were two lanes both way, cars parked on either side, but the lane was wide enough to create a pseudo-cycle lane with the moving car traffic in the other lanes.

    Then they put a hatched marking in the middle, created specific, narrower, parking areas on the sides, and forced cyclists to ride in the main carriageway along with the car traffic.

    Bonkers backward step.

    I particularly dislike this bit. Mainly because I get honked at for taking the lane.

    Slightly off topic, what's this bus stop bypass for?

  3. That shows up the old markings as well.

    I always presumed that for some services that was a turning point before entering the dragon-filled realm of East Lothian, and so the cut-in was used to turn round back for the safety of Edinburgh.
