A January highlight if you feel your commute isn't challenging enough! Cycle Service not in it this year.
Half of team 'Family Links' was working on her bike other day at their shop though. Wish them good luck.

Guy Martin will be there as usual. Weather getting warmer.

Results here. Team names are an entertainment in themselves.

    Family Links came 77th

    Guy Martin was 35th

Emily Chappel was in a pair that did well.

so apparently the best training for the sleep deprivation of a 24 hour event is a 3-month old baby ...

Emily C did indeed win the women's solo event. A quad describing itself as "Adventure Syndicate/Sandy Wallace Cycles" won the women's quads and was third quad overall. A mixed pair won the pairs event outright, the first time this has happened apparently.

As I said on Facebook, it was good to see proper competition in the women's solo event. I remember coverage on The Adventure Show a few years back where there were only 2 solo women riders. This year there were 9 (out of 99 total - I don't know if the total number of riders has gone up) and there looks to have been a decent race for the win, with Emily Chappell clocking up 23 laps and her nearest competitor 22.

BOFFOF was there, but not racing - he was crewing for a mate and his mate in a pair - they were pleased to clock up 20 laps.
