I can't find any reference to Clarence on the Council website. I wanted to report dangerous gravel on a junction and leaves on pavements, but the only thing I can see is to report litter. I must have missed something.

As a brand, it looks like Clarence the friendly lion has indeed been retired. On the website at least.

The jingle from local radio is still stuck in the depths of my brain. "Call Clarence, 0800, 23, 23, 23".

Strathclyde had Ralf the dog. ("Road and Lighting Faults") I can't remember if Clarence was some sort of acronym for Council Lighting and Roads or that's just me inventing a backronym.

Have they despatched that annoying nodding dog from the insurance ads yet? Oh and the meerkat could do with falling off his yacht too.

Thanks for the link Kaputnik however I can only see options for damaged road or pavement. I'll just have to call... :)

I would just use fixmystreet or fillthathole, the reports always get filed to the correct place in my experience.

The replies you get from reporting stuff via FixMyStreet still come from Clarence@edinburgh.gov.uk
