    Evening,

I do appreciate the irony of asking for car advice on a cycling forum, but can anyone recommend a good garage in Edinburgh please?
I'm currently staying in Tollcross so one around there would be ideal.

My car is a BMW, so if there's a BMW specialist that anyone knows about even better!

    Thanks

    Bob

Reith's in Leith have been my garage for 20 years and are honourable types.

    "My car is a BMW"

    Stereotypes, stereotypes...

Reith's in Leith is seconded. I've been using them for 10 years or so and they have never done me wrong.

In my mind's eye I see a smoky blues club in an alternate universe where earthowned never met Reith's.

Edward labinjoh next to Murryfield Sainsbury’s is good if want your car treated perfectly but if just a Junker to get to work in then may be cheaper places.

Just used this mob for the first time. Very good. All things germanic, not Bavarian but I'm sure they'd make an exception.

In garage news elsewhere the Volkswagen Beetle garage that had the half a beetle on the wall up at the university of Edinburgh is no more.

    Keeping the car stuff together…

I've got tickets for Madness at the Corn Exchange in August. I was planning to get the train to Edinburgh Park and cycle the rest of the way but the management wants to come so we will probably use the car. What is the parking like in that area?

Massive Asda car park just next to the corn exchange. You could still take the train to Edinburgh park and then the tram to balgreen but then short walk to the venue. Slateford train station very close t the corn exchange but no direct link to airdrie

My wife says she uses one where you turn right after Tesco on Easter Road (Gordon Street) but doesn't seem to know which of the garages down there it is, nor its name.

    Thanks. Asda sounds good.

The management isn't quite as keen on trains. I'm happy just looking at a Deltic and was busy photographing a Class 37 on our honeymoon…

@Wingpig that describes where Reiths is (in one of the excellent old railway arches) - theirs is the one at the end by Halmyre Street.

Is that tollcross garage on the street of the side door of the cameo no good? I used to give them 500 for an mot and service and various bits and bobs (there was always something) and the old car would feel like a lambo for two or three streets, every year.
