To influence the east-west cycle consultation. This stretches from Murrayfield to Leith St and York Place, so most of us will have tried to use parts of it in the past.

Because it covers such a huge area, it's fairly long and complex but not as bad as it looks. My advice is to open two windows - have the survey in one and the text/maps of each section in the other. OR, if you don't want to comment on each section, you can just fill in the tick boxes and then, at the end, there's a box for 'general comments'. Done that way, it's 5-10 mins max.

The 'other thread' has lots of good posts and suggestions, explanations, which would be good to share if you're asking friends, colleagues etc to complete the consultation.

Eg with pictures and clear explanation (especially with regard to the 'controversial' bit)

I've been a bit absent from these discussions owing to pressures of work and home, but really appalled to discover that the whole thing is being spearheaded by someone with a much more generalised bee in his bonnet about the council.

This route seems to be just another stick with which to beat them, but sadly, one in which he has finally found a way to rally folk around him like never before.

A lot less if you just choose the button for the level of support for each section. I presume you don't have to put any text in the boxes, but as it seems most unlikely that - assuming this all goes ahead - it will be exactly according to current plans, so even writing something like 'support in principle' would be enough.

It is anonymous - there are even 'don't want to say' options for age, gender etc questions!

    Needs a valid postcode.
