Tickets for the Flying Scotsman locomotive’s first Scottish passenger trips for 16 years go on sale tomorrow.

The world’s most famous engine will operate separate excursions from Edinburgh on the Borders Railway, and over the Forth Bridge to Fife, on Sunday, 15 May.

A total of 425 seats will be available, with tickets £59-£170.

Very exciting. Just a shame the tickets are a bit much for me (not there's likely to be any chance of actually getting hold of one).

I'll post the timings here once they're available from the Network Rail computer.

60163 is doing York to Edinburgh on the 14th. On the 15th it does Edinburgh to Tweedbank and back, and then in the evening a loop round Fife and back to Edinburgh. On Tuesday 17th it goes back to York.

Frantic behind-the-scenes work by @DerekMackaySNP & @networkrail appears to have saved tomorrow's Borders & Fife Flying Scotsman trips

I arrived in York at the perfect time and saw this beauty chug its way out of the station. #FlyingScotsman
