Lighting on NEPN

    I fancy taking a longer route home tonight via Leith to Roseburn on the bike paths but I only have my little flashy front light- is there decent lighting on the NEPN? I don't think I've ever been on them after dark!

    @Neil yes and no. Yes, because decent lighting is installed along its full length, but no, on a section roughly between Boswall Drive and Pilton Drive where, a couple of days ago, there were about 4 lights in a row that were out. I wouldn't let that put you off though.

    That section and indeed as far as Crewe Road is extremely muddy on the south side of the path, caused by vehicles driving on the verges and transferring the mud onto the path. What is going on there?

    @ih, is a result of the installation of fibre optic cables. Can't remember who is doing it or on behalf of who, but they did a decent enough job of filling in the trenches further up the path...

    You can avoid the mud, but in places it does restrict the width. It only affects a couple of hundred metres in the full length of the path.
