    Joined towpath about 8 a.m. At hermiston. Plenty cyclists heading west but did not see another eastwards bike until I caught up on someone at leamington lift bridge. Freaky.
    (Was world book day today too)

    That's traffic

    If you all go along nicely at the same speed, no jams (if well spaced out you don't see others!)

    @bax, those titles take a lot of reading in themselves. Playing rules of poker with book titles

    I see your Bauhaus, Black Magick and Benediction by David J Haskins with my The Origins of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind by Julian Jaynes.

    Is this about Yoda / Star Wars ?

    What did I miss?

    I mean, "What miss I did?"

    Might not have been "no cyclists" day, just "all cyclists same speed travel at" day.

    twas predictive text and no way to change the titel one alia acta est

    Today was as enjoyable but different

    Marco Pantani comes past me at about Cultins Road (has been on my tail for a bit). I am in shorts today. Il Pirata says to me on the way by, Enjoy the summer. I thought this was funny.

    Not as funny as me then sucking his wheel until Hrrison Gdns but without him realising, even though my studs are grinding away on the towpath as Il Pirata has his earphones in. Also bad squeak but then he can't hear it. I towed him from Boroughmuir rugby pitches actually. And then at the final stretch to the lift bridge at leamington I went on the mud side and he took out a few peds to the photo finish at the bollards. I thought I nicked it. Or is that knicked it? No other bikes heading east though apart from me and Marco.

    @gembo

    There are several haikus lurking in that final paragraph.

    Studs grinding away
    Il Pirata has earphones
    Bad squeak can't be heard

    No other bikes east
    Apart from me and Marco
    At the final stretch

    Spent this afternoon languishing around the Zen gardens at Berlin Marzahn-Hellersdorf

    They have bushy-tailed red squirrels !

    Never quite got the hang of the haiku, tho

    Is the syllable count strictly enforced ?

    @bax

    There was a young man from Japan
    Whose limericks didn't quite scan
    When asked why
    He said because I
    Like to get as many syllables into the last sentence as I possibly can

    Gembo-san, this clarification comes as a great relief.

    Let us all now donate money to the Orang-Utan Land Trust !
