Just wanted to say a huge thanks to everyone on CCE who helped the project get through it's recent bumpy patch, signed the petition, got stuck in on Facebook etc.

Your support was deeply, deeply appreciated, and I'm very pleased to say everything is again looking very positive, and that with a bit of luck we should get it built this Autumn!
    Cheers

That's really nice (and appreciated) Angus. Good that enough CCEers got involved in helping - especially at the this stage.

Of course the phenomenon of a small number of objectors making a lot of noise is familiar to people on this forum - 20mph march (a few people/taxis and a dog), Roseburn (man and bicycle etc.)

By contrast of course quite a few CCEers are involved in organising an event that attracts THOUSANDS.

This year, the day after PoP, there is a 'work day' at Skelf - all welcome.

    Couldn't find another thread.

Was in Cycle Service today and one of the first users was in getting his bike fixed up. Sciennes lad.

I went round later to see the impressive results of this project. Imagine - having an activity that you don't have to drive to and doesn't cost £15 per hour! Looks great.

Will open officially on another thread no doubt.... chdot - help!

Took the commuter round the MTB trail this morning - great fun, although my MTB skills are decidedly less than knarly these days.

Well done to everyone involved. I have a feeling this will be a great success.

Just realised that the opening party is on Friday when I'm at work but I'm looking forward to popping over to have a look at some point soon - maybe on Saturday morning during the volunteer event. There are a few unanswered questions about the opening party on the Facebook page by the way...

A celebration of over 200 years of history: tracing the origins of the Braidwood Academy for the deaf & mute up until the Skelf Bikepark opening this year. There's an event this Friday, 30th June between 1-3pm where there'll be some food, pictures on the walls and live music too. Please do pop your head in as we'd love to see you.

If you can't make it along don't worry as they'll be on display throughout July

Is there a contact email for the project? I've tweeted a couple of times about the access to the shared use path at corner of Bowmont Place / St. Leonard's Hill, where the bollards were removed (or damaged) by the excavators and replaced by big lumps of stone and concrete which make access the path by bike or with a buggy troublesome.

I was going to suggest that the double yellows on this corner need repainted too, as last couple of times I came past there was a car parked on corner decamping or collecting the little'uns for their fun on the berms.

I created my own Skelf park in dumbiedykes the other night when trying to get up to The Carbon Centre at High School Yards from Holyrood Park. Mostly involved lifting the bike (heavy and electric) up various flights of stairs. However also cyclyed under on small wiry archway into Bauksmill Park and then through a very small garden and out a similar wire archway spelling the Bauksmill Park. This required a tiny amount of ability and some ducking.
