Dirty Reiver: "grinding" in Keilder tomorrow?

    I've spotted arobcomp on the entry list for tomorrow's Dirty Reiver. Anyone else doing it?

    Thrashed my commuter up Donkey Lane yesterday in preparation for dirt road action, and I lost the front wheel in one of the mud pools and crashed massively into a tree. Luckily only my shin actually hit the tree, but it took me right off the back of the bike :(

    I also re-fitted my front tyre to be tubeless last night, left it up at 60psi to force the sealant into the sidewall, but shortly after closing the garage door it blew off the rim! Didn't make much mess, but although I've got it re-seated and holding at 30psi for the race, I'm nervous it might re-occur at a bad moment :(

    At least it's not forecast to rain!

    Saw a few familiar faces on the course. It was genuine agony, which means I swore never to ride a bike again about half way around, but I'm already looking forward to next year!

    Found a pic where I'm looking pretty pleased with myself after staying clipped in for the toughest bit of the course (steep rutted climb, mudfest finish).

    Needless to say the smile didn't last more than a few KM...
