If you are planning a feeder ride, please let us know by email (hello@pedalonparliament.org) so that I've got all of the info plus contact details in one place. Ideally we need to know: start point and time, who is organising (complete with some means of contacting them, any restrictions (e.g. if the ride won't be suitable for children or is planning a fast pace), and a link to somewhere with more information. If rides are going to pick up other riders along the way a rough itinerary would be helpful.

Best map of ward boundaries I can find is on here

    http://www.lgbc-scotland.gov.uk/maps/4thelectoral/edinburgh/edinburghindex.asp

I think the boundaries have changed slightly but this should do for now.

    I'll do wards 3 & 6.

    Any other takers?

One along the broomhouse path could join us in Roseburn and cover off ward 7

Would like to organise/help organise a Liberton/Gilmerton feeder ride. I see Roibeard has made a similar offer upthread though, so also happy to take on Shawfair (possibly joining on to the Liberton/Gilmerton feeder ride?).

Anyone who's done this before willing to offer general route advice? Main roads or back streets? For L&G, there is essentially a choice between Minto St, Mayfield Road or Lauder Road.

I think the obvious starting point in Liberton is Inch House.

Our Facebook event is ready for wider advertising once the main event is launched.

Anybody fancy doing one to Glasgow on the 23rd?

I'm away on that day so won't be able to run the Harrison Park Feeder Ride like I normally do. However I'm very happy to do all the admin I usually do before the event (permits, flags, Facebook &c). Would someone else (fimm? Chug? jdanielp?) be able to take charge of things on the day and run the event at HP.

Officially I live in ward 7 but right at one end of it - I'd have to cycle quite a long way in the wrong direction to start a ride somewhere more sensible for the shape of the ward... I could also take on admin on the day at Harrison Park (just let me confirm that the "200th birthday party" on the calendar is in the evening!)

I've sent my official form into CEC for the West Edinburgh Feeder ride. I'm not sure is is strictly necessary but it is one way to request police assistance to cross the King's Theatre junction, which has been so helpful in previous years.

If anyone want to plan a feeder ride and join up with us to cross the junction just let me know. We do pass the Russell Road Zig zags if anyone is coming from the NEPN.

Yes, but will need to get some mileage in so that I can get there and back!

@Hankchief happy to be rear gunner on West Edinburgh Feeder ride. Can also make flags if required.

I'm happy to do a Liberton/Gilmerton Ride, and can begin at Inch House as suggested.

@Frenchy - I've tried a Sherriffhall P&R feeder (last year or the year before?), with little success, but perhaps it could be combined with Shawfair?

I did come through most of the ward, so happy for you to bring folk to the Inch and we can proceed from there!

Sorry, I was getting Shawfair and Sheriffhall mixed up. Sheriffhall P&R is barely out of my way, so might as well include it. I can't see many people coming from Shawfair - if they're coming by train they're likely to just go to Waverley, or possibly Brunstane and take the Innocent path.

If anyone feels this is wrong, happy to include it though. I'll check train times for arriving at Shawfair anyway.

@Greenroofer I will be too busy to organise due to commitment to Edinburgh Green's City Centre campaign but happy to help on the day.

I'm getting slightly worried that I'm going to be the only one on my feeder ride...

    Anyone else joining us?

    https://www.facebook.com/events/1309277529132788/?ti=icl

It will be a couple of days before the Murrayfield Hustings so a good chance to show the candidates that there is support for better cycling Infrastructure in West Edinburgh.

Or how about this one from Harrison Park: https://www.facebook.com/events/186812475142022

We are still short of marshals for this. Please do give us a hand if you're coming from somewhere in the area.

Frenchy and I are well on with organising a feeder from Sherriffhall Park and Ride, to cover both Liberton/Gilmerton and Southside/Newington.

Details should go up on Facebook today...

Hello all, sorry - been very busy with lots of POP things so haven't really been advertising the feeder rides yet. Will start to collate these on the website soon & call out for more.

HankChief - I'll be there and can help out. I'm not on Facebook so can't reply there.

There's now a Facebook page for the Edinburgh Ward 15/16 Feeder ride (Liberton/Gilmerton and Southside/Newington).

This ride begins at the Sheriffhall Park and Ride, can collect folk from the Borders railway, but is only family friendly from the Inch - we'll spin by the Bike Station for the Southside/Newington collection point.

Please do advertise to the council candidates and the wards in general!

    Regards,

    Robert

@chdot - I used one of your PoP5 for the photo, which I think is within the terms, although I can't see a way to credit it properly...

You might want to put some text over photo saying it's Meadows start of PoP ride not a feeder!

Hmm, not sure if Facebook will let me over-type, however I've added "Pedal on Parliament ride from the Meadows (pictured) to the Scottish Parliament."

Hopefully that should avoid claims of mis-representation!

You'd have to photoshop (other software available) pic on (your) computer and replace.

    (But your text probably enough.)

@Greenroofer - we will be starting from the Harrison Park feeder ride. this year. I will be on the Helios with 2 boys, so I'm not sure how much help I can be - but happy to help out if needed.
