The WoL by Stedfastgate is currently being knackered by @EdinCore. There are plastic barriers, a trench at the bottom of a slope and they've made the path under the wee tunnel near St Mark's park even worse than it was.

  4. Forgot to post about that after coming across it on Friday heading back from work to Leith.

Cycle path completely blocked off, with no warning and no alternative but to get off and lift the bike over the mucky verge you can see by the sign.

Are these works planned by clowns? It's a major cycling route and there's no consideration for cyclists (nor the disabled / infirm - I often see a disabled guy in his powered wheelchair near here, so don't know how he'll get safely past this).

The disabled guy has an electric mobility trike done up like a little Harley Davidson. Quite a cheery guy who'll be rather put out by these works.

Are these the same guys who have been lifting paving stones, setts and tarmac across the east New Town? We'll see how they settle, but I reckon a substantial number of new trip hazards have been installed along with the "ultra-fast pure fibre".
