I trust they cant knock it down? Lovely building.

I was in a meeting in the Aberdeen Asset Mgt building (you enter on Princes Street, opposite Waverley Bridge) a year ago, and the person I met was somewhat disappointed that the cracking view they had to the rear - right over to Fife - was going to be obliterated by the redevelopment on the site of the old Scottish Provident building.

The view would only have been there as a result of the demolition of the previous building though surely?

In other news, any idea what's happening with the traffic around St Andrew Square? Looks like they're removing the ban on heading back up to the main square from the West Register Street direction and putting lights in for that direction at the junction - makes sense given I believe both WRS and Meuse Lane will be shut to through traffic soon (and delivery vans do it all the time anyway, often through two green men). However, it looks like they're also putting lights in at the entrance to North St David Street from St Andrew Square, implying that the north side, at least, will become two way. Any ideas why? An attempt to cut down on traffic that just wants to park there having to go all the way around?

I'm sure Fountainbridge must have an explanatory diagram squirreled away somewhere...
