Went in yesterday, bought socks as per usual, failed to notice new wind proof panel. More my tootsies I am bothered about in socks but still worth 2.99. Also bought lights, I will be Mr Wee Lights this winter. And two toothbrushes for 79p. Resisted full body wetsuit for £25. What a bargain. Also had plastic clogs in my hand for £2.99 err what would I do with them? Put them back. Woman doing weekly shop also invited me to skip the queue which was nice.

What branch is the wetsuit in? I have had a shorty Lidl wetsuit for years but honestly I need like a full body suit/dry suit/submarine/boat/to stay on dry land like God intended.

Was swimming off South Uist a few weeks back and it was as painful as it was glorious.

Chesser, yesterday had medium sized gents full body, looked like an IWRATS size to me. £25. I used the earlier half size version to swim at Ardtoe near acharacle This was in water as clear as a Greek island sea. No one there. Except woman who was a mahogany colour came out of caravan straight into the freezing briny. Tough as leather. And one other family who borrowed sun cream from us and marvelled at it being Clinique ( eldest has peanut allergy and peanuts are everywhere) he gave me an apple as part of the transaction.

I urge everyone t go there if sun shining though do take midge repellent. There is a boulder there that is a shrine to the midge.

Gracias. Perhaps crossover possibility in full wetsuit = midge suit?

I do have head net and midge gloves for activities requiring stillness. Considering adapting head net with clear plastic vision panel at eye level. Glen Dessary at 06h00 worst I have ever seen. Impeded breathing. Anti-midge snorkel?

Did I ever tell you at IWRATS my Uluru flies drinking the tears from my eyes story? Should have gone hat and net but went repellent. Clogged all my pores, came out in vast number of plooks I had to burst in Alice springs hostel. Had this hilarious scene on way back to Sydney in swimming pool in pub in outback. I had big sunglasses on and this nice German woman comes up the pool towards me, giving me the eye, in that she was going to stop at end of length for chat but she can't see the burst plooks as she comes slowly up the pool making friendly eye contact, but I know she will see this when she gets nearer. Just as she is about to stop and wish me good day she spots the burst plooks whilst still swimming, looks at me and says yeuch and turns around without stopping. Obviously I was very much younger man in those days.

I took a look at the trailer. It's a nice one which is convertible to a pushchair, however it has a very low load rating. One 4 year old could potentially push it over the limit compared to the revolution roller which will happily carry more than double to load. I assume this is due to the wheels only being attached to axles on one side.

MrSRD reports lots of bikes outside Gorgie Rd Aldi, but fairly calm inside at the moment. limited sizing though (esp. in women's).

I bought 2 X large jackets and X large trousers from Livingston Aldi. The last XL of each in the store.
Unfortunately even extra-large is not large enough and they don’t make extra extra large.

I have been trying to get in to buy the x large for years but does not fit so will have to take it back was still pleasing to buy what intended as every other year is already sold

  12. Did they have any merinos in Livi Ed1? Specifically any in size S?

I was only looking at size XL when I was in at 9.10 they had everything still in XL. I would guess they would have had S its the XL that sells first I think. I bought the last XL in the 3 items I bought.

There did appear to be full stock so a good chance of S I would think I sore some merinos items but did not look at those as bought my merinos last year

The men's merino tops were sold out for online purchases on Monday so I expect the stuff in stores will go really quickly too.

All sizes of merino wear at Gilmerton Road. I just stuck to various lights and a can of degreaser.

Most items in most sizes available in Dunfermline. Except the Merino top (which isn't really merino anyway), they only had a single size 12 left.

I came away with Merino(ish) socks, Buff and lights.

I'm tempted by the rear facing camera too although I would prefer a similar front one.

I am taking my XL kit back as really need XXL or XXXL and aldi only go to XL. I may get one of those rear cams cant make my mind up, I don’t have a front cam so may be a rear alone pointless

went a bit mad a Duloch at lunch time.

Fly 6 rip offlight, merino arm warmers and socks, the "merino" jersey, trying the slightly weird reflective leg warmers and finally a pair of neoprene gloves for the wettest days.

Ta! I'm planning to be down Gorgie way at the weekend so I might well swing by to see if they have any left in my size. Oh, and there's the new one off Chesser Avenue as well.

It's just a pity that they haven't finished building the new one just down the road from me!

Even at 8 a.m. The merino top was available onl in female sizes or one L male and one XL. Thre zip did not go right down. Bizarrely went down to two inches off the bottom. Had Mersin in sleeves only. The base layer though I bought, is good. Also the neoprene gloves and the really very good waterproof socks/

They sell a No1 scented candle for £3.99 which is a rip off of the jo Malone for £40

Don't bother with No2 or No3 THEY ARE gash but the no 1 is quite nice if you like that sort of thing.

    This was chesser.

What like are the socks? Could do with some decent ones for running.

Their normal socks are great. Would not run in waterproof socks the polybag in the middle layer would rip?

I've used the waterproof socks for 2 or 3 winters now. They are pretty warm and keep my feet dry but on the down side they are very bulky- they may add 1/2 a shoe size. Still think they are worth it on a rainy day.

Merino socks are comfortable, but will wear through faster than other brands.

I was thinking more the merino than the waterproof ones at that price they can wear through quite quickly and still be decent value.
